A couple of weeks ago we had our annual Hineni Retreat at the beautiful Rivendell Christian Retreat Centre on Bowen Island. It was a wonderful opportunity for conversation, singing, praying and reflection. The following are the thoughts and artwork by Hineni resident Benjamin Marks Woo.
Our retreat at Rivendell was an opportunity for quiet reflection about religion and spirituality. I wrote this song to reflect upon Christianity and the origins of Christianity and what Christianity might become. Come & Be Free Lyrics and Music by Benjamin Marks Woo Come and be free To break the bread At every meal As Jesus did Come let us walk The sacred path That leads to truth For all who ask Once how a story was stolen Used for power and gain Let us show them Peace and glory and love Come let us rise And break the chains Which shaped our world Since ancient days Come let us turn The evil hearts Which rule our world For power and gain Stand gainst the enemy soldiers Living their lives out in sin Let us show them Peace and glory and love Come let us speak The living word The word made flesh To all the world Come let us bring The holy ghost Into the light That all may know God of the earth may you help us With guidance and wisdom and care Let us show them Peace and Glory and Love Comments are closed.
