Hineni is hosted by St. Margaret's which is a small, vibrant and diverse worshipping Anglican community in East Vancouver that actively lives out our Mission Statement of "Sharing God's Welcome, Food for the Hungry, Life for the Weary." St. Margaret's had a vision for their rectory and after years of dreaming they decided to get a committee working together to plan ideas for the house. After many meetings and conversations St. Margaret's approved the Hineni House vision. As a church of people who mostly belong to the "helping field" the members and leaders of the church were eager to begin this project which would help young adults from all backgrounds to seek a meaningful spiritual life. The house was renovated during the entire 2015 calendar year. Parishioners helped renovate, furnish and decorate the house for the members. After a year of arduous work, the house now looked brand new! A few people took on specific rooms in the house and poured their work and soul into them making them comfortable and beautiful. St. Margaret's community is pleased and excited about this program they are able to offer to their community, and always look forward to meeting new Hineni House members and support current residents. Hineni is made possible only thanks to the generous support of the people of St. Margaret's Cedar Cottage Anglican Church, a grant from the Anglican Foundation of Canada, and our BC Diocese of New Westminster. |
